Diabetes is a chronic medical condition characterised by high levels of glucose (sugar) in the blood. It occurs when the body either does not produce enough insulin (a hormone that regulates blood sugar) or is unable to effectively use the insulin it produces. Treatment for diabetes typically involves lifestyle modifications such as a healthy diet, regular physical activity, and weight management. In addition, medication, insulin therapy, and monitoring blood sugar levels are often necessary to keep blood glucose levels within a target range and prevent complications associated with diabetes.
Gastric problems refer to any condition that affects the digestive system, including the stomach and intestines. Some common gastric problems include acid reflux, indigestion, bloating, and stomach ulcers. Treatment options for gastric problems vary depending on the specific condition and its underlying causes, and may include medications such as antacids, PPIs, H2 blockers, and antibiotics. In some cases, surgical procedures may be necessary to treat gastric problems. For example, laparoscopic surgery may be used to repair a hiatal hernia or to remove a damaged portion of the stomach in cases of stomach cancer.
