Arthroscopic Shoulder Surgery is a minimally invasive surgical procedure used to repair a torn rotator cuff in the shoulder. The surgery is performed using an arthroscope, a tiny camera inserted through small incisions around the shoulder joint, enabling the surgeon to visualize the interior of the shoulder and mend the torn tendon without resorting to a large incision. Using specialized instruments, the surgeon reattaches the torn tendon to the bone, which may entail excising damaged tissue or bone spurs before securing the tendon back to the bone using sutures or anchors.
