COVID-19 Frequently Asked Questions:
Â
How long does the Covid vaccine protect you?
Though still a subject of research, early findings suggest that in most recipients of COVID 19 vaccine, the protective effects of vaccination are demonstrated for atleast 6 to 8 months following second dose of vaccine. This data is fuelling further researches on the role of booster vaccination doses which is aimed at further enhancing the protective nature of vaccine. Â Even though breakthrough infections may occur in adequately vaccinated subjects, the severity is generally low reemphasising the need to get adequately vaccinated against SARS-CoV-2 infection.
