A Case of Tracheo-Esophageal Fistula Plugged Using ASD Closure Device
Background
50 years old female, a known patient of locally advanced carcinoma thyroid- post surgical status with Tracheostomy- 2 years back, presented with dysphagia and cough while swallowing.
Diagnosis & Treatment
Endoscopy showed defect in cervical Esophagus communicating with Trachea. Imaging confirmed Benign Tracheo-Esophageal Fistula. The fisula was plugged using ASD closure device.
Patient tolerated oral intake post procedure without complication. There was no cough while swallowing.
