Understanding Liver Function Tests (LFTs) and Key Indicators for Liver Health

Liver Function Tests (LFTs) are a group of blood tests used to evaluate the overall health and function  of the liver.

LFTs detect liver damage and help diagnose conditions like hepatitis, cirrhosis, fatty liver,  liver cancer.

Bilirubin: High bilirubin levels in the blood can lead to jaundice and indicate liver dysfunction or  bile duct problems.

Alanine Aminotransferase (ALT): Measures an enzyme primarily found in the liver; elevated levels indicate liver damage.

Total Protein: Measures all proteins in the blood, including albumin and globulin, helping assess  liver function.
