5400 Cloth Masks distributed among 3000 Adivasi communities from 6 villages
Hyderabad, May, 13, 2021: Tiryani mandal with predominant Adivasi/Tribal population such as Gond, Kolam communities has few of the remotest hamlets in the state. While the covid wave continues to rage even in such places, having a mask is still a luxury.
Yashoda Foundation hearing an appeal from the local Telangana Police has reached out and arranged 6000 reusable cloth masks for the communities. The hamlets and villages include Manghi, Pangidimadara, Rompally, Gundala, and Gudipeta. Also standing by to support the Women led Self-Help groups in Sircilla, the Yashoda foundation has sourced ethical re-usable cloth masks from them.
Dr. Abhinav Gorukanti said, “We are grateful for this opportunity to serve the remotest part of Telangana, thanks to the local police and the self-help groups for giving us quality masks.Â
Dr. Pavan Gorukanti emphasized on the use of masks as an important tool to fight the pandemic. We strongly request and recommend the use of masks by everyone even after getting vaccinated. This is a collective fight against the virus and can only be won only when each of us plays our part.
